Halloween

Halloween... LOVE IT!

I used to go overboard...but in my neighborhood puting out a pumpkin is overboard. So we just strung some black light garland in the bushes, got a pumpkin, put up some old ghoasts I made a few years ago, and a skeleton in the dirt/garden area. It was really cute and a great way to explain to Zack what was going to happen.

Well Zack had no idea what he was going to be untill Friday afternoon... BUZZ LIGHTYEAR!!! He about came undone. He was so "cited" that he wanted to put it on right away... we compriomised and let him put on the headcover and the wings. It was so freaking cute.

Woooo woooo Lady (Vicki owns a dog that makes that sound) came over to give Zack a little gift bag full of goodies. He got some cups, straws, wisles and candy. She knew he wasn't a candy kid so she threw in things he would enjoy.

We decided to go door to door pretty early (6pm) so that we could have Shelby ready for bed on time. Got him dressed and he was in HEAVEN! He kept saying Rescue... to the rescue. People actually turned around when they were driving past to see him again.

The costume was awesome. I got it from the Disney store and was the best Buzz I had ever seen...ever! I am going to upload a picture so you can see.

OH one bad thing... but big happened. Someone thought it would be a great idea to dress their 3 year old up as a gory Zombie. Complete with blood, grey falling out hair, torn clothing and a mask. Not only did this kid show up at our door but he walked into the house part way. Like most kids do at that age. Well Zack was so excited to have a group of trick or treaters that he ran to the door with a hand full of candy. He saw this zombie kid and SCREAMED. He started crying and grabbing his daddy. "MONSTER, MONSTER DADDY MONSTER". We tried everything to calm him down. He was crying so hard. We explained that just like him, this kid was "pretending" to be a monster...but it wasn't for real. He couldn't handle anything after that. We just put the candy outside and let people get it. He would scream every time someone rang the door bell. It was awful. I forgot he was so sensitive. He never sees scary things so this was over the top for him. He did at one point say, "no daddy you stay here, Grandma go to door". So basically he was saving daddy and sending Grandma to the wolves!
